Božanov is a small village in the Hradec Králové Region, in the Náchod District, on the very border with Poland.
The village, which lies along the Božanovský brook, is surrounded by the Broumovské Walls, dominated by the Koruna Mountain. On Mount Koruna there is a viewpoint with a spectacular view of part of the Broumov Basin, the Polish Hejšovina and Mount Bor. The Broumov Walls are made up of rock towns, towers, deep ravines and exceptional rock mushrooms. Nearby is the famous rock town of Adršpach.
The Broumov region is also known for its unique group of Baroque churches by the important Czech Baroque builders Kryštof and Kilian Ignác Dietzenhofer. There are 10 Baroque churches in this group, one of which is located in the village of Božanov. It is the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, which has undergone a successful reconstruction. The other churches are within a 20-minute drive.
The surroundings of Božanov are densely interwoven with a network of hiking trails and cycle paths that will take you through the picturesque corners of the Broumovsko Protected Landscape Area.
